Sir John Gielgud was gifted with the near-perfect voice for the Theatre, and was one of the greatest actors of all time on stage and in film. The tragedy for him was that he believed that there is no after-life beyond the grave. And so probably he was an atheist or an agnostic. He was said to have homosexual tendencies and was subject of quite a scandal in an England before Post-Modernism invaded society.
He died in the year 2000. He was certainly in shock to find that man's soul continues to exist beyond physical death. What an awakening!
