Finished or Completed

Complete or Finished !!!!!

No dictionary has ever been able to define the difference between "Complete" and "Finished".

However, during a recent linguistic conference, held in London, England,
Samsundar Balgobin, a Guyanese linguistic expert, was asked to make that very distinction.

The question by a colleague in the erudite audience was this:
Please explain the difference in a way that is easy to understand.

Mr. Balgobin's response: "When you marry the right woman, you are ‘Complete’. If you marry the wrong woman, you are ‘Finished’.
And, if the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are ‘Completely Finished’.”

His answer received a five minute standing ovation.!!!!

The Perfect Job

1.  My first job was working in an Orange Juice factory, but I got canned.   Couldn't concentrate.

2.   Then I worked in the woods as a Lumberjack, but just couldn't hack it, so they gave me the ax.

3.  After that, I tried being a Tailor, but wasn't suited for it--mainly because it was a  sew-sew job, and people liked to hem and haw about the price.

4.   Next, I tried working in a Muffler Factory, but that was too exhausting.

5.  Then, I tried being a Chef - figured it would add a little spice to my life, but just didn't have the thyme.

6.  Next, I attempted being a Deli Worker, but any way I sliced it...couldn't cut the mustard.

7.  My best job was a Musician, but eventually found I wasn't noteworthy.

8.  I studied a long time to become a Doctor, but didn't have any patience.

9.  Next, was a job in a Shoe Factory.  Tried hard, but just didn't fit in.

10.  I became a Professional Fisherman, but discovered I couldn't live on my net income.

11.  Managed to get a good job working for a Pool Maintenance Company, but the work was just too draining.

12. So then I got a job in a Workout Center, but they said I wasn't fit for the job.

13.  After many years of trying to find steady work, I finally got a job as a Historian - until I realized there was no future in it.

14.   My last job was working in Starbucks, but had to quit because it was the same old grind.

15.   SO, I TRIED RETIREMENT.

I FOUND I'M PERFECT FOR THE JOB - LOVE IT!

Great use of English Alphabet

THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST AND MOST BEAUTIFUL USE OF THE ENGLISH ALPHABET THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN.

I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT AS MUCH AS I DID.

Although things are not perfect
because of trial or pain

continue in thanksgiving

do not begin to blame

even when the times are hard

fierce winds are bound to blow

God is forever able

hold on to what you know

imagine life without His love

joy would cease to be

keep thanking Him for all the things

love imparts to thee

move out of "Camp Complaining"

no weapon that is known

on earth can yield the power

praise can do alone

quit looking at the future

redeem the time at hand

start every day with worship

to "thank" is a command

until we see Him coming

victorious in the sky

we'll run the race with gratitude

‘xalting God most high

yes, there’ll be good times & yes some will be bad, but...

Zion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

"I AM Too blessed to be stressed!"

"The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor."

"The one who kneels to our Lord can stand up to anything!"

REMEMBER! HE has promised that He will not leave or forsake us who belongs to Him! (Heb 13:5)

How to prepare a Pineapple to eat

Many of us like eating Pineapples but dislike the cutting away of the skin. See how an Asian woman does it.

Some colorful slang

                Abuden
The short form of "Ah, but then?" to

indicate, "What else did you expect?" or

"Wasn't that obvious?
A: I told her I would keep her cat while she

went on vacation, but didn't realise I would

have to feed the cat.

B: Abuden? Did you expect the cat to go

look for food on its own?

          Achcherlee =  actually

           Alrite    =   all right

Macam macam = it takes all sorts of people

Blimey = God blind me! Exclamation

of shock from low class Cockney English.

Retired US Admiral becomes Walmart greeter

You just have to appreciate this one. Young people forget that we old people had a career before we retired.

Charley, a new retiree-greeter at Wal-Mart, just couldn't seem to get to work on time. Every day he was 5, 10, 15 minutes late. But he was a good worker, really tidy, clean-shaven, sharp-minded and a real credit to the company and obviously demonstrating their "Older Person Friendly" policies.
One day the boss called him into the office for a talk.
"Charley, I have to tell you, I like your work ethic, you do a bang-up job when you finally get here; but your being late so often is quite bothersome."
"Yes, I know boss, and I am working on it."
"Well good, you are a team player. That's what I like to hear”.
“Yes sir, I understand your concern and I will try harder”.
Seeming puzzled, the manager went on to comment, “I know you're retired from the Armed Forces. What did they say to you there if you showed up in the morning late so often?"
The old man looked down at the floor, then smiled. He chuckled quietly, then said with a grin,

"They usually saluted and said, Good morning, Admiral, can I get your coffee, sir”?

Fake eggs, fake cooking oil ....from China

Since the 1990s fake chicken eggs have been made in China, said to cost half the price of the genuine ones. Also thrown-away cooking oil is being used in some eateries and restaurants in China. All these in the quest for a fast buck. And false eggs are found in South-East Asia. I have bought a few from the supermarts and sundry goods shops. Even salted eggs are no longer what they claim to be - the york is clearly fake when cooked, and so is the white. Chemicals and other toxic stuff are masqueraded as foods. Terrible world we are living in today.

Typical Asian Drivers

Parking and some mannerisms of our car drivers. Surprisingly overtaking and cutting into your lanes are left out, which are outstanding daily feats on our roads. So this sketch is not typical but comical.

2016 CNY Riot Hong Kong Mongkok

There was an all-night riot on 8th February 2016 when Hong Kong authorities disallowed unlicenced hawkers from selling their goods in the Kowloon area of Mong Kok. The police fired a few shots into the air and this started the riot in which some police officers were injured. The rioters started a fire on the street and hurled bricked and bottles at the police. The police withstood the riot and the streets were cleared of debris.

Don't mess with the Hong Kongers.

If the short video does not play, please complain to Google Blogger - I have sent them several complaints to no avail.

Maybe they want me to stop blogging on their blogspot. But they have not officially told me to stop.

Hollywood Cemetery is not in Hollywood

Hollywood Cemetery is a large, sprawling cemetery located
next to Richmond, Virginia's Oregon Hill neighborhood at
412 South Cherry Street. Characterized by rolling hills and
winding paths overlooking the James River, it is the resting
Monroe and John Tyler, as well as the only Confederate
States President, Jefferson Davis. It is also the resting place
of 28 Confederate generals, more than any other cemetery
in the country; these include George Pickett and J.E.B. Stuart

Sir Martin Gilbert British Historian

Sir Martin Gilbert, shown with the bust of Winston Churchill, whose biography he wrote.

Some of us may know about Benjamin Disraeli as the one British Prime Minister who was a Jew serving during the days of Queen Victoria.

I have recently discovered a British Jewish historian who wrote numerous books, is recognised as one of Britain's great historians, and wrote the biography of Sir Winston Churchill.

He is Sir Martin Gilbert/ His parents were Russian Jews who escaped to Britain, where Martin obtained his brilliant University degrees and later became an acknowledged historian academician.

He was a practising Jew and has given public lectures in Britain, America and in Israel. He has spoken on the Europeans who helped the Jews escape the Holocaust during the Nazi occupation of the countries concerned.

He passed away in 2015.
