Author of "Case For Christ"

Lee Strobel was an investigative journalist for the Chicago Tribune, USA, dealing with legal cases. In the 1980's his wife became a Christian in an evangelical church and Lee was annoyed at her church activities threatening a change in family lifestyle. He took up the challenge of proving her faith wrong, and spent some two years investigating the Christian faith for all it is worth. He interviewed the best of the evangelical scholars and theologians on the basics of the Christian dogma.

He asked tough questions about the reliability of the New Testament manuscripts, their quantity and quality compared with secular manuscripts for notables like Socrates, Alexander the Great, other famous names of antiquity. Now as a Christian of some 50 years, I must confess that I have never probed such issues myself. Like many Christians I had simply trusted in the divine origin of the Bible and left the matter at that. It had never occurred to me to question how creditworthy the manuscripts of Scripture were or are.

To cut a long story short, Lee did some two years of serious investigation and came to the end of himself, much like C S Lewis and the lawyer who wrote "Who Moved the Stone?". He surrendered to the Lord not only went to church, but went to seminary and became a pastor. He has authored a series of books entitled "Case for .............." which have been featured on the New York bestseller lists. These books have also been made into films and dvds.

"Case for a Creator" deals with scientific issues from all angles; "Case for Christ" deals with Jesus - His life, death and resurrection; the manuscripts of the Gospels, etc...
