Keys to the Second Coming Book

This is a new book just freshly baked from the oven a few days ago. It is a fully illustrated book with 50 pages of coloured illustrations and is quite reader-friendly with large print for those with not-so-good eyesight.

Also it is not a thick humongous book of frightening thickness, but is only 123 pages, yet with enough substance for your eschatological digestion.

Sir Robert Anderson, Head of Scotland Yard and an able expositor of Scripture; wrote many books including "The Coming Prince".

Contents of "Keys to the Second Coming"

Chapter 1 - Law of Multiple Fulfilment

Chapter 2 - Problems of each Eschatological View

Chapter 3 - The Millennial Kingdom

Chapter 4 - The Second Coming

Chapter 5 - Look Up! Your Redemption draws Near.

Contact Email: andlfloh@gmail.com or Handphone 019-6677090 for copies.

It gives a comparative four views of the exposition of Matthew chapter 24 and Revelation 20, and you are not left to guess which one is the correct interpretation.

The author is widely read on the subject and has given you a digest of even contemporary thinking on the subject from writers ranging from Sir Robert Anderson (The Coming Prince) to Timothy Weber's "On the Road to Armageddon".

It gives a sufficient critique of AMillennialism and PostMillennialism, while selecting choice bits from PreMillenialism. It is biblical and not lost in the maze of eschatologicalese.

The price is affordable for an expensively illustrated book at RM25 each.

Palm Sunday Fulfilled Daniel 9's 69Weeks to the dot

Matthew chapter 21 records the Palm Sunday declaration by Jesus of His Messiahship, the only public occasion in all his three-and-half years of ministry when He acknowledged the crowd's hailing of His Messiahship.

This unique occasion fulfils Zechariah 9:9 to the very letter. "Such is the accuracy of Scripture," says Sir Robert Anderson, the Head of Scotland Yard of Britain and an author of numerous Christian books including the famed "The Coming Prince".

So this Palm Sunday was no ordinary day or occasion. It was a day of destiny for the nation of Israel in their final rejection of their Messiah, and they would suffer God's judgments for this rejection of Christ. In AD 70 the Roman General Titus was to destroy the city of Jerusalem and its Temple, killing the whole city population and sending Israel into exile for the following 1800 years. Then came the Holocaust of that Master of ethnic cleansing, the monster Hitler, who almost wiped out the race of the Jews. So drastic are the consequences of rejecting their Messiah.

Melaka Satey Chelup

Melaka has been touted as the tourist state of the country of Malaysia. It is because history of Malaysia started here in 1511 when Parameswara sat under the Melaka tree while seeking refuge.

The A'Famosa Gateway and the Victorian Clock Tower are both icons of the Melaka tourism. Some millions of ringgit have been spent to clean up the Melaka river and tourist boats can ply it for a river tour of the city.

As for Melaka food, one of its famed dishes is Sate' Chelup, which is a specialty of the town. It has become well-known, and just as famous as the Nonya dishes.

The Jonker Street has become Jonker Walk, a tourist destination next geographically and parallel to the "antique ware" street, Heeren Street.

Within walking distance of 10 minutes from the Clock-Tower is the shopping malls of Mahkota Parade and Dataran Pahlawan.

Are You Challenged for Eternity?

The word "challenge" has become a modern connotation of some obstacle to overcome. It is a word which "sugars the pill", an euphemism covering the unpleasant reality with something less threatening. It has become Postmodern. When one is physically handicapped, one is "physically challenged". Someone who is mentally handicapped is "mentally challenged". If your family is dysfunctional, your family is also "challenged".

Familially Challenged

Mentally Challenged

Physically Challenged

Most people don't realise that life's most challenging challenge is the spiritual challenge of the Gospel of Christ. Be spiritually challenged because you are going to spend an eternity in heaven or hell.

Methodist Bishop Hua Yung and his Brothers

Methodist Bishop Hwa Yung is a soft-spoken mild-mannered gentleman in appearance, but underneath that persona lies an undying flame of devotion to the Lord, a flame bursting forth from time to time in eruptions like his books against public wrong and ills.

I met Dr Hwa Yung while he was Principal of Seminari Theoloji Malaysia when I got him to write a foreword for my book on the Charismatic Renewal of Malaysia in 1991. The Lord has promoted him since then and he now functions as the head of the Methodist Church of Malaysia.

He is outspoken against public corruption which is rampant in many nations in the world and also in Malaysia. I remember his booklet on why Christians should not simply abandon Malaysia and head for greener pastures in countries like Australia, a booklet which deserves to be reprinted for the present generation of Malaysian Christians.

His wife is a medical doctor who opted to serve in areas apart from medicine. She is an author of several books in her own right and serves the Malaysian community in various portfolios.

I think someone close to the family of Dr Hwa Yung should write a book about his remarkable Methodist parents, brothers and sisters. This Hwa family has produced 4 male outstanding ministers for the Lord: these are four arrows from a quiver full of blessings for the Church and the nation. It will be an inspiration to others to read about.

Why Malaysian Buses are rickety and old

We have to thank Dr. Mahathir for the prolonged dismal state of buses in Malaysia. Yes, we have to remember the "Doctor in the House" being the father of the rotten state the bus system of transportation in Malaysia. While he hopes to be remembered as the Father of something good for Malaysia, some of the negatives will be so outstanding as to eclipse even the KLCC Twin Towers long after he is gone for good.

Apart from the KL bus system which has been upgraded after years of heated public outcry, the rest of the country is riddled with no discernible bus system worthy of mention.Even in Melaka which is hailed to be a tourist centre of the nation the bus system is antiquated and squalid in the main. Only outstation buses are modern because of competition and private enterprise. But public local transport has been entombed in ramshackle rattlers.

To what does the Malaysian public owe this deplorable state of public bus transport?

Some iron fist has seen to it that State Governments nor Federal Government should improve public bus transport for the simple economic reason of protecting the Malaysian car industry. Since Mahathir started his ambitious Proton car industry some 3 decades ago, the authorities have had to keep the national car industry going. To keep the public buying Kancils and Sagas, public bus transport has been neglected and depressed. The public in many towns have to wait half an hour or more for a public bus, in contrast to our neighbouring country's efficient public bus and MRT transport. Europeans and Westerners and the Japanese wonder at the clockwork precision of most Singapore buses.

When will the government in power think of the interests of the ordinary people of Malaysia? Promises are made at election fever periods only to be voiced again after another 4 years. Some big capitalist cronies are benefitting from the neglect of public transport, to say the least.

And our Dr M started the whole process.

Singapore Anglicans for Israel

Canon James Wong (Left)

Just in case you think all Anglicans are Anti-Israel like the notorious Stephen Sizer of Britain, let me point you to some Anglicans who are Pro-Israel in Singapore. Canon James Wong was closely connected to the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International in Singapore, and that organisation is very much in favour of Israel.

I don't know the stand of Bishop Moses Tay, but I am sure about his younger brother Rev. John Tay who has written articles and a book about Israel. Both these talented brothers were medical doctors who left medicine for the "greener pastures" of serving the Lord in the Anglican Church of Singapore.

Thank God for Anglicans who have their eyes open to the true identity of Israel as the earthly people of God, a people imperishable under the Abrahamic Covenant.

Living by naked Faith

How does one exists today without a credit card or a secure source of finance to meet daily necessities? Especially when you are married and have four children to raise up. How to be a good husband and a father, and at the same time fulfil the great commission of His Majesty of the Messianic line?

One such contemporary exemplar is Ross Tooley who hails from New Zealand and has worked for Youth With A Mission for over forty years, starting out as a teenager.

His book "Adventures in Naked Faith" tells the story of his twentieth century to 21st century living for the Lord. He has been working with a missions organisation which does not pay a salary nor an allowance (you have to raise your own fund), a faith-based missions started by Loren Cunningham of USA.

Ross follows the footsteps of exemplary living-by-faith Christians like Hudson Taylor and George Mueller and Loren Cunningham. This type of lifestyle is full of adventurous exploits and "risk-filled" living - for instance, you queue up for an air-ticket without having sufficient money to pay for it, and depend on a last-minute donation meeting the money required. This is like "walking on water", a challenge in "missions impossible" for those prepared to live literally by faith alone.

Yet Ross and his wife Margaret have more than survived for the last forty plus years with YWAM and have raise four kids.

Go out on a limb for the Lord.

Author of "Case For Christ"

Lee Strobel was an investigative journalist for the Chicago Tribune, USA, dealing with legal cases. In the 1980's his wife became a Christian in an evangelical church and Lee was annoyed at her church activities threatening a change in family lifestyle. He took up the challenge of proving her faith wrong, and spent some two years investigating the Christian faith for all it is worth. He interviewed the best of the evangelical scholars and theologians on the basics of the Christian dogma.

He asked tough questions about the reliability of the New Testament manuscripts, their quantity and quality compared with secular manuscripts for notables like Socrates, Alexander the Great, other famous names of antiquity. Now as a Christian of some 50 years, I must confess that I have never probed such issues myself. Like many Christians I had simply trusted in the divine origin of the Bible and left the matter at that. It had never occurred to me to question how creditworthy the manuscripts of Scripture were or are.

To cut a long story short, Lee did some two years of serious investigation and came to the end of himself, much like C S Lewis and the lawyer who wrote "Who Moved the Stone?". He surrendered to the Lord not only went to church, but went to seminary and became a pastor. He has authored a series of books entitled "Case for .............." which have been featured on the New York bestseller lists. These books have also been made into films and dvds.

"Case for a Creator" deals with scientific issues from all angles; "Case for Christ" deals with Jesus - His life, death and resurrection; the manuscripts of the Gospels, etc...
